Monitoring the Render Queue
The Rendering processing queue can be monitored via the Content Manager client. This dialogue allows you to see the items that are queued to be rendered, any errors that occur during the rendering process and a history of the records that have been rendered.
To access to Render Queue:
- From the Administration tab, in the Other group, click Monitor Render Queue.

The queue tab displays a list of all records that are waiting to be rendered. This list includes those records that are user requests as well as those that have been added as a part of the automatic rendition options.
The details of the render includes:
- Record Number
- Rendition Type
- Priority
- Request Date
- Requested By
- Server Name
- Status
- File Type
- Record Unique Identifier
- Request Reference
NOTE: Render requests for documents that are in a pending transfer state to the document store will not be added to this list until the document store transfer is complete.
The list of records displayed in this list can be refined to display those that meet only specific criteria. To refine the displayed list, right-click in the Monitor Render Queue - Queue tab window and click Find.

Find
You can refine the criteria by:
- Record - click the KwikSelect to find a specific record number.
- Requested by - click the KwikSelect to find a specific location.
- File type(s) - type in the file type extensions
- Rendition types - tag or untag the Rendition Types to refine what is displayed in the Render Monitor.
Click OK to run the search, the list of items in the Queue tab will update to show the items that meet your refined search criteria.
Refresh
Click Refresh, or alternatively, click F5 on your keyboard, to refresh the list of items displayed.
Show Records
Use the Tag options, or select an individual item from the displayed list. Right-click and click Show Records to open the selected record(s) in a Record object dialogue.
Delete
Records that have yet to be processed can be deleted from the Rendering Queue. Right-click on the record, or use the Tag options to select multiple records, and then click Delete.
Any errors that occur during the rendering process will be displayed here.
- Password protection
- Unprintable content
- Documents cause an error in the authoring application
- No application is available to print the document format
The details of the render includes:
- Record
- Rendition Type
- Date Processed
- Error Details - a description of the error type and any messages returned by the application
- File Type, i.e. file extension
- Mail Attachment No - to identify which attachment in an email record caused the error
- Priority
- Record Unique Identifier
- Request Date
- Requested By
- Server Name
Sort the list by clicking any of the column headings.
Right-click one or multiple tagged items for the commands:
- Re-process - adds an item to the rendering queue
- Re-process Immediately - adds an item to the rendering queue with very high priority
- Filter - enables you to enter one or more file extensions to be displayed
- Delete - will only be available if all selected requests can be removed - removes the error from the queue without any further action
The Current Activity tab displays a list of all documents that have been through the rendering process on the same Workgroup Server the Content Manager dataset is connected to.
- Render Process Type - from the drop-down list, select the render process type to display the details for. Select from:
- PDF Rendering
- OCR Rendering
- Signed Copy Rendering
- Running Since - displays the date and time that the rendering process was started.
- Total Processed - displays the total number of records that have been rendered for the selected Render Process Type during the running time.
- Total Errors - displays the total number of errors that have occurred for the selected Render Process Type during the running time.
- Records In Queue - displays the number of records in the queue for the selected Render Process Type.
The details of the documents listed include:
- Record Number
- Rendition type
- Priority
- Date requested
- Requested By
- Started Processing
- Processing Time (s)
- Status
- Description
