Copy Security and Access Policy

On the Security and Audit right-click menu, the option Copy Security and Access From allows you to copy the security and/or access control settings from one Content Manager object to others of the same type, for example, copy the security/access control settings from one Location to other Location(s).

To copy the security/access controls:

1. From your search results screen, select and right-click on the object(s) to be update and then point to Security and Audit, then click Copy Security and Access From. The Copy Security and Access Policy dialogue is displayed.
2. In the Copy security and access setting from field, use the recent drop-down or the KwikSelect to search for and select the object whose security and/or access control settings will be copied from.
3. Select the require copy settings:

• Copy security level and caveats - select this option to copy the selected object's security level and caveats to the items to be updated..
  • Just upgrade security level/caveats to ensure they are not lower - select this option to upgrade the security level and caveats of the items to ensure that they are not lower levels than the selected object.
• Copy access controls - select this option to copy the selected object's access controls to the items to be updated..
• Copy exclusions - select this option to copy the selected object's exclusion list to the items to be updated..

• Copy default workflow access controls - applies to Workflow Templates - select this option to copy the default access controls for Workflow Templates.
• Copy access control defaults - applies to Meeting Types - select this option to copy the default access controls for Meeting Types.
• Copy default record access controls - applies to Classifications and Record Types - select this option to copy the default record access controls for Classifications and Record Types.

4. Click OK. The security/access settings of the selected object will be applied.
