Adding new lower level Classifications
- Right-click the Classification to add the new Classification under and on the New menu, click New Lower Level Item.
The Please enter number for new level.. dialogue box appears for you to type the level number unless the numbering is automatic.
The Create New Lower Level Item dialogue box appears.

NOTE: The existing Classification must be configured to allow subordinate levels before you can use New Lower Level Item.
New subordinate levels will inherit the characteristics of the parent level at the time of their creation.
- Type the level name and other defaults and select the Numbering tab.
- Select Allow creation of new lower levels of this Classification
- Type the Classification numbering pattern Content Manager should use in Numbering of subordinate levels of this Classification Pattern.
Content Manager will use this number pattern to number each of the records created with this Classification.
- Start Numbering After - enables you to start numbering subordinate record levels from a number other than 1.
For example, when the subordinate plan numbering pattern is set to ggg, Content Manager numbers the first subordinate level 001.
When you set Start Numbering After to 049, Content Manager will number the first subordinate level 050.
