Additional Fields search methods

You can search for records by their Additional Field values.

The search methods in that category depend on what the Content Manager administrator has set up for your dataset.

  1. From the Search menu, select Find Records
  2. At the bottom of the dialogue, click the Editor button and make sure that the Boolean search editor is selected
  3. Click KwikSelect beside the Search By box
  4. Click the expand symbol to expand Additional Fields
  5. Select a field and click OK.

Depending on the type of field you have selected, you will have different search options:

    • String fields - a string field is a text field that can be linked to Lookup Sets.

Use the string field KwikSelect in a search dialogue box to show the items in the associated Lookup Set.

If no Lookup Set has been defined, then a list of all words used in the field and attached to records appears, allowing you to select one.

See Searching by Lookup Set items.

    • Numberfields - search within a number Additional Field
    • Boolean fields - a Boolean field appears as a check box on New Record forms.

A Boolean field has two possible values:

      • Yes
      • No.

If you leave this field blank, Content Manager will treat it as No.

Use the drop-down list to select the value you want to search for.

    • Date and Date Range fields - search within a date Additional Field.

Use the calendar to either select a date from the calendar, or use the drop-down list to select a predefined date.

You can use the calendar function to either select a date from the calendar or use the drop-down list to select a date.

This symbol comes from the computer settings and will display the currency symbol for your country.

    • Number (64-bit) - search within a large number field
    • Word - search within an XML string field
