Creating and deleting items
You can copy many items like Locations and Record Types, which makes it easier to create similar, new items. Right-click the item to copy and click the relevant command Copy <item type>.
To copy a record, right-click the record, point to New and click Copy Record.
To create new items without copying existing ones, in many lists, you can right-click and then click the relevant command New <item type>.
However, you can also use the File menu to create new items:
- On the File menu, click New.
The Content Manager - New dialog box appears.
- Select the tab for the item you want to create
- Record tab - displays the Record Types you can use to create records, according to your permissions.

- Double-click the item type or select it and click OK.
A set of dialogs appears according to the item type you selected.
Provided you have the necessary access permissions, you can delete most items from the Content Manager dataset.
CAUTION: Some items cannot be retrieved after they have been deleted.
- Right-click the item to delete from the dataset.
Most of the time, a confirmation dialog appears.
Other dialogs may appear depending on what kind of item you are deleting. - Confirm that you intend to delete the item.
Content Manager deletes the item.
Provided you have the necessary access permissions, you can delete most items from the Content Manager dataset.
CAUTION: Some items cannot be retrieved after they have been deleted.
- Right-click the item to delete from the dataset.
