Cut, Copy, Paste and Clear
These functions work for any of the Favourites or Recent shortcut bar items and also for the Work tray
These functions also work within most other dialogue boxes in Content Manager, for example, New Record forms, search dialogue boxes etc.
For those functions, if you tag some items, Content Manager assumes you want the command to apply to all the tagged items, otherwise it applies just to the currently selected row.
- Copy - puts the selected data on the clipboard. It extracts text data as follows:
- Each row is on a separate line, the first field is the name property, for example, record number for records, sort name for Locations, etc.
- After that - if applicable - each column in the hierarchical tree box is put out on the line separated by a tab. The name property is suppressed if it is in this list.
- Paste - means there is something on the clipboard that can be pasted into the current window
- Cut - removes the selected data from the current window, placing data on the clipboard
- Clear - removes the selected data from the current field without putting data on the clipboard.
- Copy Link - copies an URL formatted text and HTML representation for a selected object to the clipboard, which can be then pasted into other applications. When the link is clicked, the Content Manager client will open the object directly.
NOTE: If the copied link is pasted into an application such as MS Word or MS Outlook, it will be pasted as a HTML link; if it's pasted into an application such as Notepad, the link will be pasted in text format.
The link can also be copied into a web browser URL bar to open the object in Content Manager.
