Attaching Contacts as a primary Contact

An attached Contact may be both a set type of Contact - i.e. Author, Addressee, Representative, etc. - and a primary Contact. Only one primary Contact can be set for each record.

When you first attach a Contact to a record, for example, when creating a new record, if it is the only Contact attached it will automatically be created as the Primary Contact.

If you attach a Contact to an already existing record, the following options enable you to specify if it is to be the primary Contact:

  • Make Primary Contact - select to set the Contact as the primary Contact for the record
    • Only if no primary contact exists - select when you are unsure whether there is already a primary Contact attached and you do not want to override the existing primary Contact
