Relating series records

  1. To attach a record to a series, right-click it and select Details - Relate.

    The Relate To Series dialogue box appears.

  2. Type in or KwikSelect for the series record number you want to attach to
  3. Click OK

NOTE: You must have Contribute Contents permission for the series to be able to create this relationship.

NOTE:

  • This command is only available if the option Records should be placed within a Series is selected on the Record Type Properties - General page.
  • Optional Series Record field on New Record forms.

    You can set Series Relationship to blank - either when you create the record or by modifying it after having created it - even if it is a mandatory field on the New Record form.

    Alternatively, drag a series record onto an in-series record.

    The dragged record becomes the series of the target record.

    If you drag the in-series record onto a series record, the option Series is unavailable.

    If you want to use drag and drop with the right-click menu, you need to drag the series record on to the in-series record in order to have the command available and for the process to work correctly.
