Suspending Activities
You can suspend an Activity for a specified time period. Sometimes an Activity cannot be completed due to circumstances beyond the organisation's control.
For example, an applicant has not provided enough documentation for the application to be processed.
- In the Activity list or the Workflow editor, right-click the Activity, select Suspend.
The Suspend Activity dialogue box appears.
- Fill in the fields:
- Reason for Suspension - type free text
- Duration of Suspension - click Add Day and Add Hour or KwikSelect
- Click OK.
If the suspension is not removed by this date/time, Content Manager will send a notification to the person responsible.
If the Activity can proceed ahead of this time, you can resume it by using the right-click Resume command in the Workflow editor.
Content Manager stores any suspension information in the notes of the Activity.
- Suspended - this or a previous Activity is on hold and its suspension duration has not elapsed.
You cannot complete this Activity and its escalations will be suspended, as well.
- Ready To Resume - this Activity has been put on hold, but its designated holding duration has elapsed. Users can complete this Activity and its escalations have been resumed.
- Suspended - this or a previous Activity is on hold and its suspension duration has not elapsed.
- Right-click the Activity, select Resume
Removing the suspension from an Activity has the following effects:
- Content Manager recalculates escalation dates and times - previous escalation date/time + time on suspension
- Content Manager extends Workflow due date/time by the suspension duration
- Content Manager extends the Activity's estimated duration by the suspension duration
- Content Manager removes the suspension status
- Content Manager adds the suspension duration to the Activity notes
- Right-click the Activity, select Complete
If you complete a suspended activity, the activity is automatically resumed and then completed.
