Report layout commands

• Properties - to view or modify the properties of the report layout
• Save - saves the report layout without closing it
• Print Preview - displays a preview of the report
• Paper Format - to format the report paper defaults
• Close - closes the Content Manager Report Layout dialogue box

The View menu enables you to display or hide the report designer palettes:

• Item Order
• Bands
• Available Items
• Item Properties
• Snap to Grid - arranges the elements in the current report layout in a grid

When you right-click an item in a report, you can use commands that are mostly also available in the Item Propertiesdialogue box.

The commands depend on the type of item you right-clicked.

For example, for text caption and data fields, the following commands are available:

• Delete Item - removes the selected item from the layout
• Copy Item - copies the selected item to the clipboard.

  Click where you want Content Manager to paste the item for it to appear in the layout.

• Font - select the font type for the selected item
• Text Rotation - rotate the text in the following ways:
  • Left - right - default
  • Top - Bottom
  • Bottom - Top
  • Right - Left
• Alignment - to select the text alignment
  • Left
  • Centre
  • Right
• Colour - to set the colour of the text in the field
