Security Classification tab

The Security Classification tab enables you to set an initial security classification for the record and displays the security classification details derived from an attached Security Guide Entry:

  • Initial Security Classification - for records that are typically created elsewhere, this is the initial security level that the record was created with.

This field cannot be left blank.

If a Security Guide is added and Initial Security Classification is blank, Content Manager populates the Initial Security Classification field with the classification specified from the Security Guide.

  • Current Security Classification (when first filed) - the security classification that the record will be recorded as being when registered inside the organisation, this may or may not be the same as the initial security level.

Select the security classification to be in force until the record is declassified or downgraded.

  • Derived From (Security Guide Entry(s)) - contains references to one or more entries from the Security Guide.

Select a Security Guide Entry to apply to the record.

Security details for the record will be modified according to the defaults set on the Security Guide Entry.

    • Add - displays the Security Guide Entries window allowing you to select one to apply to the record
    • Remove - removes the selected Security Guide Entry from the record
  • Derived From (Other Sources) - contains references to sources other than the Security Guide Entries
  • Reason(s) For Security Classification - up to 255 characters of text as description of the reason behind the record having this classification.

Type in the reason that the record was set to the current security classification.

Type in or click KwikSelect for the Location who classified the record.

Multiple items are allowed in this field.
