Location General page

1. To see this dialogue box, right-click a Location, select Properties.

   The General page displays the basic details of the Location.

   • Type - available only for Unknown Location Types - from the drop-down list, select the Location Type the Unknown location should be updated to.

   • Name - available for all Location Types expect Person - name of the Location.

     Click KwikSelect to check whether the name or a similar name already exists.

     When you are creating a new Person, the name details etc. are completed on the Personal Details page, see Personal Details page for additional information.

   • Unique Name - unique name or abbreviation of the Location.

     This field is limited to 20 characters.

     No duplication allowed.

     You can use Locations with unique names in Location fields by prefixing them with a period (.), for example, .Boss.

   • ID Number - identification number for the Location
   • Internal - indicates whether the Location is internal or external.

     The icons vary according to whether they are internal or external Locations.

   • Review Date - date to review the Location's settings, for example, when a temporary staff member is due to leave the organisation
     • Calendar button at the end of the Review Date field - click it to open a calendar to select a date.

       The calendar also has a drop-down list which contains preset dates like:

       • Today
       • Tomorrow
       • Yesterday
     • This list only contains some items rather than the full set, as this field requires a specific date value.
   • Foreign Barcode - external barcode for the Location

   • Email Address - email address for the Location

     NOTE: When you copy location and the Ensure email addresses are unique option is enabled in the System options > Locations, the email address is not copied. Make sure to enter the email address.

   • GPS Location - select a map location to gather the global positioning system (GPS) coordinates for the location. The coordinates are stored using the industry standard WKT format. See Geo Locations.
   • Phone Numbers - these are the Location's telephone numbers:

     • Business Phone
     • Mobile Phone
     • Fax
     • Home Phone
   • Image - you can attach an electronic image to a Location using the Electronic Addresses page in this dialogue box.

     Right-click and select New - Image to select an image file from your computer.

2. Click OK.
