Document Store Pools
Document Store Pools allow organizations to set up an object that can be associated to a set of Document Stores to allow Content Manager to save new electronic objects to the best available store within the selected pool.
Document Store Pools are created and maintained from the Administration ribbon, in the Setup group and click Document Store Pools.
The Document Store Pools window appears, listing all available Document Store Pools.
Creating Document Store Pools
To create a new Document Store Pool:
From the Administration ribbon, in the Setup group, click Document Store Pools.
The Document Store Pools window appears.
- Right-click in the window, click New Document Store Pool.
The New Document Store Pool dialog is displayed. - Complete the New Document Store Pool details:
- Name - type the name of the Document Store Pool.
- SEC Compliant - select this option to flag the Document Store Pool as SEC Compliant. See About SEC Rule 17a-4 Compliance rules
NOTE: Once this option has been selected and the pool created, the option cannot be unselected.
- Click OK to save the new Document Store Pool.
Document Store Pool Usage
Once a Document Store Pool has been created, it can be associated to Document Stores, see Storage Pool tab for details. The usage of a Document Store in a pool, for electronic objects other than records, is configured on the Document Store, see Usage tab for details.
They can also be added as an option on Record Types, see Record Type properties > Electronic page for details.
NOTE: If a Document Store Pool has not been added to any Document Stores, it cannot be used as a pool option.
To see what Document Stores are associated to a pool, right-click on the Document Store Pool, click Show Document Stores. A new window will appear listing all Document Stores associated to the selected Document Store Pool.
