Synchronisation Schedule

Enable Scheduled Synchronisation - allows Directory Synchronisation to be performed unattended, on a regular schedule, by a dedicated event process.

NOTE: The Directory Synchronisation event process must be enabled in Content Manager Enterprise Studio.

Synchronisation Behaviour

Create New Locations - allows Directory Synchronisation to create new locations in Content Manager.

Update Existing Locations - allows Directory Synchronisation to update existing locations in Content Manager.

Deactivate Locations - allows Directory Synchronisation to deactivate locations in Content Manager.

Add Relationships - allows Directory Synchronisation to add associations between synchronised Content Manager locations.

Remove Relationships - allows Directory Synchronisation to remove associations between synchronised Content Manager locations.

Update Locations not targeted by LDAP searches - select this option if you wish to update all Locations, including those that are not targeted by the LDAP search, or if you want to update only the Locations of the configuration being run.

Enable Active Directory Incremental Synchronisation - select this option to enable Directory Synchronisation to select only the LDAP objects that have been modified since the last synchronisation process was run. This functionality relies on the Active Directory Update Sequence Number (USN), which is a directory-wide counter value that is incremented by AD whenever changes are made to the directory. When a synchronisation is run, the current USN value from AD is stored in CM, and the next synchronisation will only select LDAP objects with a USN value greater than the stored value.

  • Active Directory Update Sequence Number - displays the Active Directory Update Sequence Number (USN) value.
    • Reset USN - click to reset the USN back to 0 (zero), effectively forcing the next synchronisation to be a full (non-incremental) synchronisation.

To run a full synchronisation, clear this option and then manually run the synchronisation.

Run Synchronisation button - run the synchronisation interactively.
