Architectural security

Content Manager is built on an architecture that employs servers to distribute logic and data.

This architecture introduces a security model whereby the possibility of access to data from outside Content Manager is not only constrained by the capabilities and configuration of the host operating system security.

The following is a guide to help administrators and users understand the behaviour of Content Manager security.

Environment system security

Content Manager is designed to separate the client user from the data servers by a multiple tier configuration.

The Content Manager client connects to the Content Manager Workgroup Server that connects to database and document store servers.

Content Manager uses domain permissions to deny direct access to computers and data.
