About Control File Update permissions

  • Record Types - permission to maintain Record Types and automated part rules:
    • Create new Record Types
    • Modify any characteristics of existing Record Types
    • Delete existing Record Types
    • Create new automated part rules
    • Modify existing automated part rules
    • Delete existing automated part rules
  • Lookup Sets - permission to maintain lookup sets:
    • Create new Lookup Sets
    • Modify existing Lookup Sets
    • Add to the list of items in Lookup Sets
    • Remove items from the Lookup Set list
    • Delete Lookup Sets
  • Additional Fields - permission to maintain Additional Fields:
    • Create new Additional Fields
    • Modify existing Additional Fields
    • Delete existing Additional Fields

    • Document store path visibility - the global store location appears in Help - Setup Information
    • Store ID visibility - only a user with Document Stores permission can see the ID that indicates where an electronic document is located within a store on a record Properties - Electronic tab
  • Indexed Words - permission to maintain the word indexes created by Content Manager.

    Enables the user to review existing index word lists and add or remove noise words.

    Also permission to use the word re-indexing facility in Content Manager Enterprise Studio.

  • Postal Codes - permission to maintain the postcodes that are used by Content Manager:
    • Create new postcodes
    • Modify existing postcodes
    • Delete existing postcodes
  • Thesaurus Terms - permission to maintain Thesaurus terms:
    • Create new Thesaurus terms
    • Modify existing Thesaurus terms
    • Create relationships between Thesaurus terms
    • Delete existing Thesaurus terms
  • Meeting Administrator - permission to administer meeting items:
    • Add a new participant to a meeting when the meeting date has passed
  • Meeting Contributor - permission to contribute to meetings:
    • Schedule meetings from a Meeting Type
  • Security Guide Entries - when the option Administration - System Options - Features page - Classified Security is selected, a user can add, modify and delete security guides
  • Email Templates - permission to add, modify and delete email templates
  • Data Cleanup - makes the Administration - Data Cleanup ribbon function available.
  • Origins - permissions to use the origins module
  • Define Barcode Scanners - permission to maintain the available barcode scanners on a particular computer.

    This permission enables a user to:

    • Define a new barcode scanner
    • Modify any characteristics of an existing barcode scanner
    • Delete an existing barcode scanner
    • Manage barcode control sheet - Manage - Control Barcodes
  • Define Web Publisher Layouts - permission to maintain the Content Manager Web templates.

    Enables a user to:

    • Create new Web templates
    • Modify any characteristics of an existing Web template
    • Delete an existing Web template
  • Reporter Administration - permission to maintain the Content Manager report definitions.

    This permission also applies to the maintenance of the report graphics.

    Enables a user to:

    • Create new report definition
    • Modify any characteristics of an existing report definition
    • Delete an existing report definition
    • Create new report graphic
    • Modify any characteristics of an existing report graphic
    • Delete an existing report graphic
  • Alert Administrator - enables the user to create, activate, suspend, modify and delete any Alert
  • Can view active audit events - permission to view Active Audit Events.
    • For records - if the permission is enabled and you can view the metadata for the record(s), you will be able to view the Active Audit Events.
    • For all other object types - if the permission is enabled and you have access to modify the object, you will be able to view the Active Audit Events.
