On-line scanners

Your on-line scanner does not need to have an in-built clock, as each scan will update the Content Manager dataset immediately.

All it needs to do is read Code 39 barcodes and send them to the computer in ASCII format through a serial cable.

NOTE: For scanners that use the USB port, refer to the manufacturer's documentation for installing drivers that mimic a serial port.
