Capturing content from shared channel (MS Teams Admin Only)
Content Manager supports capturing content from shared channel(s). You can add Content Manager app to capture content in your shared channel(s).
To add a shared channel, perform the following:
- Navigate to Teams tab, click More option on any of the Channels, and then select Add channel. The Create a channel dialog is displayed.
- Enter name for the channel and description, if any.
- Select Shared in the Privacy drop down.
- Click Create to create the private channel.
Only the MS Teams Administrator can create shared channels. Also, make sure that the Create shared channels option is enabled in the Teams policy your organization is using. The shared channel can be shared with a member, team, or a team you own.
The existing Content Manager integration with MS Teams will not work with the shared channel.
To integrate the Content Manager app with the shared channel, you need to generate a new manifest file, and then register the Content Manager app along with the newly generated manifest file with your Identity Provider. Once the app is registered, add the new Content Manager app to the MS Teams.
To generate new manifest file for shared channels, execute the az_install.ps1 script in Windows PowerShell ISE available in the following location:
https://github.com/content-manager-sdk/Community/blob/master/docs/files/24.1/az_install.ps1
The members of the shared channel can capture content to the Content Manager and perform all the operations on this channel in the same manner followed for standard or private channels.
