The Content Manager Web Client provides a generic document viewer to view different types of documents. If you want to view your document in the native application, you can bypass Content Manager document viewer for those file types. Depending on the browser you are using, the document will be opened in another tab or you will be prompted to save and download the file to your local system.
User can choose how particular electronic document file types are viewed in Content Manager Web Client. The options to choose from are:
- Bypass Content Manager Viewer for These File Types - the supported file types will be displayed using the browser's viewing capabilities.
NOTE: If the attempt to view large CSV file fails in Web Client, bypass the Content Manager viewer for CSV file type in the Settings > Document Viewer. You will then be able to view the CSV as a plain text.
To select the file types:
- Click in the option field and from the displayed drop-down list, click the required file type.
- Click OK to save the changes.
To remove a selected file type:
- In the option field, click the X next to the file type name.
- Click OK to save the changes.
For more information, refer Configuring Document Viewer section in Content Manager Web Client Installation and Configuration document.
Users with appropriate user permissions can set some of the Web Client settings as Global Settings, which users can then download. If a user has the correct user permissions, they will see the Global Settings tab on the Settings dialogue.
The settings that are saved as Global Settings are:
- Locale - Time Zone and Page Size settings
- Document Viewer - Bypass Viewer File Types option
- Default properties and fields for tree boxes - the columns selected for grid view are set as global. This change is reflected in Content Manager client also.
Tag the options that you want to set as global settings or select the Select All check box to tag all the options and click OK.
You can save your favourite Record Type in the order you want to. The option Display the following record type first allows you to choose your favourite record type to be displayed, while creating a new record, in the order you want them to be displayed.
