Create iManager Role Wizard

Use this wizard to create the new Role object in a Role-Based Services Collection container where other Role objects reside.

  1. Type the new Role name.

  2. Type the collection container for the new Role.

  3. Type a brief description of the role, then click Next.

  4. Select the tasks to belong to the new Role.
    Select from the tasks listed in the All Tasks box. When you select one, the Translated Name, Path, Rights Advisory, and Description fields reflect your selection and give additional information about the task.

  5. Click the Right-arrow to move the selected task to the Assigned Tasks box.
    The new role owns all tasks in the Assigned Tasks box. You can also remove tasks by selecting them in this box and then clicking the left-arrow.

  6. Click Next.

  7. Assign categories to the new Role by selecting from the tasks listed in the Available Categories box.
    A category is provides groups of roles and tasks specific to a particular function. There are 14 default categories in iManager 2.5. You can create new categories and assign roles and tasks to then according your company needs.

  8. Click the right arrow to move the selected Category to the Assigned Categories box.
    The new role owns all categories in the Assigned Categories box. You can also remove categories by selecting them in this box and clicking the left arrow.
    The Path and Description boxes are informational.
  9. Click Next.

  10. Assign members and scopes to the new Role.
    Members can be Users, Groups, Organizations, or Organizational Units. They are assigned to the new Role in a specific scope of the tree.

  11. After you assign membership, click Add.
    A confirmation message appears.

  12. Click OK.
