Create Network Address

NetAddress Type
Select the protocol of the network address that you want to add. The bottom half of the dialog box changes to reflect the required address format as described in the sections below.

IPX Address
Enter a hexadecimal number (digits 0-9, letters A-F) in all three fields. Each hexadecimal character you enter represents four bits (a half byte) of the address.

Network
Specify the cable segment number.

Node
Specify the network board number. For Ethernet boards, the number is set at the factory. For token-ring and ARCNet boards, the number is set by using jumpers on the board.

Socket
Specify the IPXTM socket number. If you don't know the specific socket number the connection will use, specify 0 (zero).

IP Address
Specify a decimal number from 0 to 255 in each of the four fields. The first two fields represent the network segment. The last two fields represent the computer.

SDLC Address
Specify a hexadecimal number (digits 0-9, letters A-F) in all three fields. Each hexadecimal character you enter represents four bits (a half byte) of the address. For more information, see your hardware documentation.

Ethernet/Tokenring Address
Specify a hexadecimal number (digits 0-9, letters A-F) in all three fields. Each hexadecimal character you enter represents four bits (a half byte) of the address. For more information, see your hardware documentation.

OSI Address
Specify a hexadecimal number (digits 0-9, letters A-F) in the available field. Each hexadecimal character you enter represents four bits (a half byte) of the address. The address can be up to 256 bytes long. (You can enter up to 512 hexadecimal characters.)

AppleTalk Address
Specify a hexadecimal number (digits 0-9, letters A-F) in the first three fields. Each hexadecimal character you enter represents four bits (a half byte) of the AppleTalk address.

Network Begin
Specify the first network address in the range. This is a 2-byte number. (You can enter up to 4 hexadecimal characters.)

Network End
Specify the last network address in the range. This is a 2-byte number. (You can enter up to 4 hexadecimal characters.)

Hardware Address
Specify the specific hardware address. This is a 6-byte number. (You can enter up to 12 hexadecimal characters.) For more information, see your hardware documentation.

Hardware Type
Select the hardware type you want from the drop-down list.

UDP Address

Port
Specify the UDP port number in decimal. The number can be from 0 to 65535. All NetWare® servers use port 524.

IP Address
Specify a decimal number from 0 to 255 in each of the four fields. The first two fields represent the network segment. The last two fields represent the computer.

TCP Address

Port
Specify the TCP port number in decimal. The number can be from 0 to 65535.

IP Address
Specify a decimal number from 0 to 255 in each of the four fields. The first two fields represent the network segment. The last two fields represent the computer.
