Rights to Other Objects

This property page lists eDirectory objects that this object has explicit rights to. (NetWare file system objects are not listed.) This object is a trustee of each object listed on this page. The explicit rights held by this object as a trustee are stored in the ACL property of each object in the list.

  1. To give this object explicit rights to another object, click Add Object or press Insert to browse for a new object.
  2. To delete the object as a trustee of the selected object, click Delete or press the Delete key.

The object no longer has explicit rights to the selected object or its properties but might still have effective rights through inheritance or security equivalence.

  3. To view or change the explicit rights that this object has to the selected object, click Assigned Rights.
  4. To view this object's effective rights to the selected object or its properties, as calculated by eDirectory, click Effective Rights.

Click this button and then browse for the new trustee in the Effective Rights dialog box.

Note: If you change this object's assigned rights to the selected object and then click Effective Rights before clicking Apply, your changes won't be reflected in the effective rights that are displayed.
