VSAM Record Length Restrictions

The maximum record length that Drag and Drop, SourceConnect and Compare and Synchronization Monitor can handle is 64,000 bytes. If you have defined a VSAM file with a maximum record length greater than 64,000, then it is still possible that it can be read. It depends upon whether or not a record actually exists in the data set that is longer than the 64,000 byte limit. This limit is actually 63,998 bytes because LSC appends a 2 byte length code.
