FSView

FSView is a command-line utility for administering Fileshare servers. Some commands that control a Fileshare server cannot be entered at the Fileshare console window; these commands must be entered through FSView instead.

For a full list of FSView commands, see FSVIEW Command Line.

From the Fileshare console window, enter the command fsview to run in FSView mode, where you can enter a range of commands.

To use FSView mode to administer a Fileshare server, it must be started with Fileshare security, which is not set by default. To activate Fileshare security, the server must be started using a password file containing the special user ID FSVIEW and its password.

The password file should also contain the user name and password for each user who will be connecting to the Fileshare server. All clients then have to specify their user IDs and passwords when they connect.

See Walkthrough - Securing a Fileshare Server to create a password file containing the special user ID credentials, start a fileshare server securely using the file, and then log on to FSView to administer the server.
