Fileshare can be configured a number of ways to run within an Enterprise Server region:
iFileshare iFileshare (integrated Fileshare) is the version of Fileshare integrated with Enterprise Server, providing key aspects such
as transactional support for CICS applications, and high availability for your VSAM datasets, as well as all the other features
that come with Enterprise Server. We recommend that this configuration replaces existing configurations for Fileshare running
under Enterprise Server.
Stand-alone Fileshare Stand-alone Fileshare is a configuration within Enterprise Server that enables you to direct all I/O for CICS- or JCL-related
files to a stand-alone Fileshare server, providing transactional VSAM file access for CICS-related files.
