Enterprise Server Monitor and Control - S2 Sidebar Help

Enterprise Server Monitor and Control enables you to monitor and control servers, services, packages and handlers on your Enterprise Server. You can also monitor and control CICS-enabled applications, and create and edit CICS SITs, startup lists, groups, resources, and so on. The sidebar menu enables you access to these functions. When you click a button in the sidebar, the body of the page changes, providing information, or controls which you can use to modify settings. For help on the body of the page, click Help, Body.

Home

Click this to return to the Enterprise Server Administration home page.

Server

Click this to display information about the current server.

Monitor 1, 15

Click Monitor 1 to display information about tasks, collected at one minute intervals. Click Monitor 15 to display information about tasks, collected at 15 minute intervals.

Control

Click this to view and change control information for this server.

SEPs

Click this to view information about the SEPs (service execution processes) running on this server.

Clients

Click this to view information about the clients using this server.

Diagnostics

Click Display to view the console log, or a dump or trace data set. To select the diagnostic information to view, click:

  • Log - displays the console log. The buttons A, B and C/x have no effect with this button.
  • Dump - displays the dump data set specified by the button A, B or C/x. If you select C/x, the X dump data set is displayed.
  • Trace - displays the trace data set specified by the button A, B or C/x. If you select C/x, the in-memory trace table is displayed.
  • Blocks - specifies the number of blocks of diagnostic information to display.
Reply

Click this to view the list of current outstanding replies to ACCEPT FROM CONSOLE statements. You can see this button only if there is at least one outstanding reply.

Resources

Use the buttons in this group to:

  • View the services, packages and handlers available on this server.
  • Submit JCL jobs and view and update spool queues and the catalog.
  • View and maintain all active resource tables for this server.
  • View and maintain all resource tables for this server.

To access the relevant pages, click the dropdown box. You can choose an item from the list. When you choose an item, extra buttons are displayed that enable you to display the information required. You can select:

Services
When you select this, you can click:
  • Services - to view the services available on this server.
  • Package - to view the implementation packages available on this server.
  • Handlers - to view the request handlers available on this server.
JES
When you select this, you can click:
  • Spool - to view and manage spool queues.
  • Catalog - to view and manage the catalog and data sets.
  • Control - to submit JCL jobs and start batch initiator and batch printer SEPs.
  • Locks - to view the current resource locks for this server.
IMS
When you select this, you can click:
  • Transact - to view the defined IMS transactions
  • Control - to perform IMS-related administration functions
MQ
When you select this, you can click:
  • Input Qs - to view the status of the input queues for defined MQ listeners.
  • Output Qs - to view the status of MQ output queues.
Active
When you select this, you can click:
  • ACEEs - to view the active ACEEs for this server.
  • DCT - to view the active DCTs for this server.
  • FCT - to view the active FCTs for this server.
  • ICE - to view the interval control elements for this server.
  • JCT - to view the active JCTs for this server.
  • Locks - to view the current resource locks for this server.
  • PCT - to view the active PCTs for this server.
  • PPT - to view the active PPTs for this server.
  • SysC - to view the active CCI connection definitions for this server.
  • TST - to view the active TSTs for this server.
  • T-Type - to view the active T-Types for this server.
  • TCPIPSv - to view the active TCPIPSERVICEs for this server.

Displays the resources, defined for the startup list used by the SIT in use on this server, and the resource groups they are associated with. When you click this, you can select:
  • DCT - to view the DCTs in this startup list.
  • FCT - to view the FCTs in this startup list.
  • JCT - to view the JCTs in this startup list.
  • PCT - to view the PCTs in this startup list.
  • PLT - to view the PLTs in this startup list.
  • PPT - to view the PPTs in this startup list.
  • Sys62 - to view the LU6.2 connection definitions in this startup list.
  • SysC - to view the CCI connection definitions in this startup list..
  • Term - to view the Terminal definitions in this startup list.
  • TST - to view the TSTs in this startup list.
  • T-Type - to view the T-types in this startup list.

Displays the resources available on this server, by type, and shows the resource group the resource is associated with. When you click this, you can select:
  • DCT - to view the available DCTs.
  • FCT - to view the available FCTs.
  • JCT - to view the available JCTs.
  • PCT - to view the available PCTs.
  • PLT - to view the available PLTs.
  • PPT - to view the available PPTs.
  • Sys62 - to view the available LU6.2 connection definitions.
  • SysC - to view the available CCI connection definitions.
  • Term - to view the available Terminal definitions.
  • TST - to view the available TSTs.
  • T-Type - to view the available T-Types.
