Defining Terminal Models

The steps to define a terminal model are outlined below.

  1. Create a new entry in the terminal control table. (In ESMAC select Resources > by Type, click one of the table buttons, scroll down to the end of the table, and click Term.)
    • For a terminal definition specified as Model: Only, you must specify:
      • Model Name.
      • Terminal Type: the name of a typeterm entry
    • For a terminal definition specified as Model: Yes, you must specify:
      • Model Name.
      • Terminal Type: the name of a typeterm entry
      • Net Name.
    • A terminal definition specified as Model: No is a physical terminal definition and you must specify:
      • Terminal Type: the name of a typeterm entry
      • Net Name.
  2. Create a matching T-Type entry (if none exists). (In ESMAC from the Term page click Group List, scroll down to the end of the table, and click TType.) At a minimum, this must specify:
    • Def. Screen Height
    • Def. Screen Width

Many different models can refer to the same T-Type entry.
