Bidirectional MSS-to-mainframe Example

You must configure the Mainframe Access Server to enable ES/MSS outbound communications and provide it with definitions for the target CICS and target ES/MSS systems.

You must also create an appropriate connection definition for your enterprise server. The connection definition is shown below.

Figure 1. Example of MSSto Mainframe Connection Definition
Example of MTO to Mainframe Connection Definition

As with the previous example, the name of the definition, RSYS in this example, must match the server name as defined in the Mainframe Access server definition, which in turn points to the target CICS region on the mainframe. This example would have a Mainframe Access server definition similar to the folllowing:

<MCOID=RSYS>
LUNAME=CICSTSR3
TPNAME=*
MODENAME=#INTER
SYNCLEVEL=0
SECURITY=NONE
<END>
Note: If your enterprise server is not going to initiate the communications, you can omit the connection definition.
