To Change the Status of a Service

  1. Click Details against Services in the Objects column for the server you want to change.
  2. Click Edit in the Operation column for the service whose status you want to change.
  3. Choose the new status from the list in New Status.
  4. Click Apply.
Note:

Depending on the status of the change request, one of three messages is displayed in the Enterprise Server Administration GUI status bar:

  • MDS0112I Update success
  • MDS0111W Update request failure

In the case of a failure the state of the service, as reported by the ES Administration GUI, changes from "Available" or "Disabled" to a pending state. The next time the ES instance starts it will use the new configuration.

  • MDS0110W The specified configuration change may not take effect until the server is restarted

The state of the service, as reported by the Enterprise Server Administration GUI, changes from "Available" or "Disabled" to "Changes made to service: a server restart may be required for the new configuration to take effect". To check whether the service update was effective, use the ES Monitor and Control HTML GUI and select the "Services" resource list page.
