To enable MSS for an existing enterprise server

  1. In the table of servers on the Home page of Enterprise Server Administration, click Edit to the left of the row for the server for which you want to enable MSS.
  2. Click the MSS tab.
  3. Check Mainframe Subsystem Support enabled.

This is the minimum you need do to enable MSS. By default the enterprise server uses the SIT DFH$IVP. The startup lists, groups and resources used by the enterprise server will, therefore, be those defined by DFH$IVP.

  4. If you want to use a SIT other than DFH$IVP, specify the name of the SIT in System Initialization Table.

If you want to set a SIT that has a $ (dollar) character in its name you have to escape the $ character, for example MY\$SIT:

  5. If you specified a SIT other than DFH$IVP, specify CICS search paths, unless you are enabling MSS for JCL rather than CICS, in which case search paths are not required.
  6. Click Apply.
  7. Restart your server. The enterprise server will start as a MSS-enabled enterprise server, using either the default SIT, or the SIT you specified.
Note: You can disable or re-enable MSS by unchecking or checking Mainframe Subsystem Support enabled, then clicking OK and stopping and restarting the enterprise server.
