CICS SysC

Use this page to create a new SysC. A SysC is a definition of a CCI system connection.

If you displayed this page by clicking Copy on a previous page, the values on the previous page are used as the basis for the new SysC.

If you displayed this page by clicking New on a previous page, some values on this page are already set to default values.

Group List

Click this to display the CICS Group page group_name.

Add

Click this to save changes you have made to the page, refresh the page and add the new SysC to the group you specify in Grp. The button changes to Apply.

Name

Specify the name of this SysC. Can be up to four characters: the first character must be A-Z, @, #, or $; trailing characters can be any of these, or 0-9. The name is forced to upper case.

Grp

Choose a group to which this SysC will belong. The list of groups from which you can choose include only those which can be edited by you.

Description

Specify a description of the transaction program (can be up to 60 characters).

Machine Name

Specify the machine name; consists of the Local LU Alias of the client machine and the Mode used by CCIAPPC when issuing the APPC ALLOCATE verb to initiate a conversation with the server TP. The format is:

LUNAME.MODENAME

where the parameters are:

LUNAME The Local LU Alias of the client machine. This name must also be defined as a Partner LU Alias on the server machine.
MODENAME A Mode defined on both the client and server machines.
Protocol

Specify the CCI protocol to be used by this connection:

MF Node

Specify the text hostname or dotted decimal address of the target server.

MF Port

Specify the decimal value of the port that the target server listens on.

Net Name

Specify the name of the network over which the connection is established.

Session Max

Specify the maximum number of sessions that can use this connection.

Transaction

Specify the one- to four-character transaction ID. When MSS receives a request to start a transaction, it only looks at the first four characters of the TP name.

Priority

Specify the priority for transactions run from this terminal. Defaults to 0 (zero). Terminal priority is one factor in determining a transaction's execution priority, which is the sum of:

  • Terminal priority (this field)
  • Transaction priority
  • Operator priority

The sum cannot be greater than 255.

In Service

Check this to specify that the connection defined by this SysC is in service.

User ID

Specify a user ID to be associated with the connection. Mandatory if no sign-on takes place on the connection.

Language

Choose the national language in which messages are sent over the connection. You can choose English or Kanji.

Session Name

Specify the security name of the connection. Can be up to eight alphanumeric characters from the set A through Z, 0 through 9, $, @ and #.

Attach

Choose the level of security required when a user issues an attach request over this connection:

  • Identify - Incoming attach requests must specify a user ID.
  • Verify - Incoming attach requests must specify both a user ID and a password.
  • Persistent - The first attach request must specify both a user ID and a password, but subsequent attach requests require only a user ID.
  • Mixed - Incoming attach requests can specify either Identify or Persistent.
  • Local - The authority of the user is taken to be that of the link.
Oper ID

Specify an operator ID used for routing messages. Specify this for a terminal that cannot be signed on, such as a printer. If you specify an operator ID for a terminal that can be signed on, it is overridden by the operator ID specified in the user's sign-on table entry. Up to three alphanumeric characters.

Oper Priority

Specify the operator priority for transactions run from this terminal. Specify this for a terminal that cannot be signed on, such as a printer. If you specify it for a terminal that can be signed on, it is overridden by the operator priority specified in the user's sign-on table entry. Defaults to 0(zero). Operator priority is one factor in determining a transaction's execution priority, which is the sum of:

  • Terminal priority
  • Transaction priority
  • Operator priority (this field)

The sum cannot be greater than 255.

Resource Keys, all

Choose a setting to apply to all the resource keys:

  • On - enables all of the resource keys
  • Off - disables all of the resource keys
Resource Keys, 1 - 24

Check any of the boxes 1 through 24 to activate that security key.

Delete

Click this to delete this SysC. This button is displayed only after you click Add.

Copy

Click this to create a new SysC, using the values set on this page as the basis for the new SysC. This button is displayed only after you click Add.

Dump

Click this to create and view dump information for this SysC. This button is displayed only after you click Add.
