PPT Entry (ppt_name)

Use this page to view information about the PPT named ppt_name, selected from the PPT (Active) page. You can also change the status of the PPT, and change various parameters of the PPT.

This page mainly provides information about the PPT. To set values for the PPT, use the CICS PPT page.

Apply

Click this to save changes you have made to the page and refresh the page.

PPT

Shows the name of this PPT. If you click Apply, the message "Update complete" is also displayed when the changes you have made to the PPT have been saved and the PPT updated. Click Refresh to remove this message.

Load Module

Shows the location and name of the executable file in use. You see an entry in this field only after the executable file has been used.

Status

Shows the current settings that apply to this PPT. You can change any of the settings.

Enabled

Click this to enable the PPT.

Disabled

Click this to disable the PPT.

DPL API Subset

Check this to limit the program to the Distributed Program Link API subset of commands; there is no terminal control, BMS, and so on.

CEDF Enabled

Check this to allow the use of the CICS Execution Diagnostic Facility, which enables debugging at the CICS command level.

Resident

Check this to indicate that the program resides in the application server's program cache after it has been loaded.

COBOL

Click this to indicate that the program language is COBOL.

PL1

Click this to indicate that the program language is PL/I.

C

Click this to indicate that the program language is C.

Assembler

Click this to indicate that the program language is Assembler.

WS Integrity

Check this to indicate that load requests are ignored if the program is already in storage. Leave unchecked to indicate that a fresh copy of the program is loaded every time a load request for the program is issued.

Type

Shows whether the PPT is associated with a program or data.

Size

Shows the size of the module and the minimum size of the Commarea.

Counts

Shows:

  • Resident - the number of programs resident in the server's program cache.
  • Hold Count - the number of outstanding LOAD HOLD commands that have not been countered by a RELEASE.
  • Index - the number of times a LOAD SET ENTRY() has been executed.
  • In Use Count - the number of outstanding LOAD commands that have not been countered by an exit from current units of work.

Click this to create and view a dump of the DCT.
