To specify file properties

By default, files in your project inherit the properties set at project level. You can, however, specify properties for individual files and these properties override the properties set on the project.

You can modify a file's properties manually or automatically using the Determine Directives command.

To specify file properties manually:

  1. In Solution Explorer, right-click one or more files whose properties you want to set.
  2. Click Properties.
  3. For files used in the COBOL projects such as .cbl , .jcl and .vse or .dbd, .mfs and .psb, set the options and directives you require.

    For example, for JCL files you can specify the JCL File Type in the Misc section of the file properties.

  4. Click Apply, and then click OK.
