Enterprise Server Clustering

An Enterprise Server Cluster is a cluster of interconnected Enterprise Server regions, orchestrated by a specific instance of an Enterprise Server region called the Global Lock Manager (GLM).

An Enterprise Server Cluster allows the scaling-out of work units, so that an increased number of operating system images can share the workload. Built over the ISC communications layer, an Enterprise Server Cluster allows catalog data set sharing and ensures the integrity and consistency of data throughout the entire cluster.

The end result is high-performance, multi-system data sharing across all systems.
Note: CICS data set locks are processed by GLM so share a lock between CICS and JES.
