Loading IMS

Restriction: This topic applies only when the AppMaster Builder AddPack has been installed, and applies only to Windows platforms.

You can load IMS directly into a data view.

Before you begin, be sure that:

Loading IMS from the IDE

You can load IMS directly into AppMaster Builder via your PSB source. All DBD source referenced by the PSB source is loaded automatically with the PSB source. You can also provide additional information for the data view by creating a DDISRC file containing DDI statements that identify IMS segments and their corresponding COBOL copybook record descriptions. This is also loaded automatically. For details on coding DDI statements for IMS, see Coding DDI Sources.

Loading IMS into a COBOL project

You can specify a COBOL project into which AppMaster Builder simultaneously loads IMS sources when you load them into your data view. AppMaster Builder automatically loads IMS sources into your COBOL Project when you have the Compile in COBOL Project check box selected in the AppMaster Builder Preferences page. Click the Preferences button on the AppMaster Builder Explorer toolbar to access the preferences. You can load sources into the COBOL project as well. See Compiling in a COBOL project for more information.
