Specifying the Communications Protocol

The default protocol for Fileshare over CCI is TCP/IP (CCITCP), and on UNIX platforms is the only supported protocol. For Fileshare clients and servers on Windows platforms, you can also use the Named Shared Memory protocol (CCISM). Use the CCI.INI configuration file on the Fileshare client to specify which protocol to use for which Fileshare server.

If you are using the TCP/IP protocol, you do not need to specify it in a CCI.INI configuration file.

Note: The CCI.INI file that ships with Enterprise Server contains detailed comments that explain the various CCI.INI options that you can use to alter the basic configuration. Most of these are rarely required.
