To edit a SQL Schema file

Restriction: This topic applies only when the AppMaster Builder AddPack has been installed, and applies only to Windows platforms.
  1. Do one of the following:
    • To modify an existing schema, right-click its name in the tree view list and select Edit.
    • To create a new schema, select Add and then specify a name for your new schema in the Name field, then click OK. Then double-click or select Edit. The SQL Schema dialog box appears, which lets you edit the new schema file. The locations for the SQL table definitions and the schemas display in the SQL Table location and Schema location fields.
  2. Click a table name listed on the SQL Table Definitions list, and choose the >>> button. This moves the table name to the Table Definitions in Schema File list. You can select more than one table at a time by holding down the Shift or Ctrl key as you click the table name.

To provide a copybook name for a table, click the table name on the Table Definitions in Schema File list, then type the copybook filename into the Copylib field.

Note: The table names listed on the Create SQL Schema dialog box are all of the tables defined in the SQL DDL files you have stored in the SQLDDL folder of your project or group.
  3. Repeat the previous step for each table for which you want to provide a copybook name.
Tip: If you do not specify a copybook name for a table, AppMaster Builder generates a name for that table's copybook and for the record names contained in the copybook.
  4. When you have selected all of the table names you want to include in the schema and assigned copybook names as necessary, click OK.
Note: Use the <<< button to remove a table definition from a schema file.
