To run a CSI query

To run a CSI query:

  1. Position the cursor anywhere within the program that you want to query.
  2. Click the COBOL Source Information button (Quick Browse button) on the toolbar. Alternatively, press Ctrl+Alt+Q or right-click in the COBOL editor and click Quick Browse.

The Quick Browse dialog box is displayed.

  3. Specify the CSI query that you want to run, then click OK.

The results from the query are shown in the Search view.

Every time a CSI query is made it is added to the available query list. You can select a query from the query list by clicking and choosing from the available list. Over time the list can become less relevant to the type of queries you want to run or too large to use efficiently. You can clear your query list history by clicking Clear History in the Quick Browse dialog box.

Note: Background parsing needs to be enabled in order to run a CSI query. Background parsing is enabled by default, but if you have disabled it you need to re-enable it before you can run CSI queries.
