Running Applications in a TN3270 Mainframe Display

Enterprise Developer enables you to use a mainframe display control integrated within the IDE, or launch a mainframe session of an external emulator from within the IDE when running or debugging Mainframe Subsystem applications that require an emulator that supports TN3270 to run.

Enterprise Developer supports the following TN3270 mainframe displays:

Rumba Mainframe Display view
A Rumba Mainframe Display view embedded in the IDE.

This option is only available if you have installed and licensed Micro Focus Rumba+ Desktop version 9.5 or later. (The latest version of Rumba+ Desktop is included with the Enterprise Developer setup file; if you use this option, there is no need to license Rumba separately.)

Rumba+ Desktop Desktop
You can use a mainframe session of Rumba+ Desktop to run or debug the applications you develop in Enterprise Developer.
Other
Alternatively, if you have an emulator other than Rumba+ Desktop that has a mainframe display, you can use that to run your Mainframe Subsystem applications.
Note:
  • The functionality described in this section is only available for native Mainframe Subsystem projects.
