To import a region into ESCWA

To import a region from a definition file:

1. On the Choose Import Type page, click the import file type required and then click Next.
   • If you select the JSON or XML file type:
     1. On the Upload File page, click inside the dashed rectangle and then browse to the file location. Alternatively, drag and drop the file inside the dashed rectangle.
     2. If the definition file is accepted, click Next.
     3. On the Select Regions page, check Import next to the regions you want to import and choose from the following import options:

        New Name

        You must type a new region name for the regions being imported.

        64-Bit Working Mode

        Check this to import the region in 64-bit working mode. Otherwise, the region will be imported as a 32-bit working mode.

        Clear TLS from Endpoints

        Check this to ensure that all imported listeners will be configured to start without TLS.

        Clear Hostnames from Endpoints

        Check this to ensure that all imported listeners will be configured to have hostname *.

        Clear Ports from Endpoints

        Check this to ensure that all listeners will be configured to have port *.

     4. Click NEXT.
     5. On the PERFORM IMPORT page, a summary of the selected import options is displayed. If you want to continue to import the selected regions and options, click IMPORT.
     6. Click FINISH.
   • If you select the Legacy file type:
     1. On the Choose Legacy Repostory Location page, in the Repository Location field, type the absolute file path to the legacy .dat definition file and then click Summary.

        This displays a summary of the regions and security options contained in the .dat legacy definition file.

        If you want to continue to import the content of the legacy definition file, click Next.

     2. In the Select Regions page, check Import next to the regions you want to import and then click Next.
     3. In the Select Region Import Options page, choose the options that you require:

        Set all regions to Stopped state

        Check this if you want all regions to be set to the Stopped state. Micro Focus recommends this field is checked unless you are trying to diagnose state issues in the regions.

        Import deployed Services and Packages

        Check this if you want to import deployed Web and J2EE services to the regions. You might want to uncheck this if you only want region configuration and not the associated Web and J2EE services.

        Region Import Rules

        When importing:

        Only If No Duplicates

        Import all regions and report an error if any regions are duplicates.

        Only Import Non-Duplicates

        Only import regions which are not duplicates of existing regions.

        Replace Duplicates

        Imports all regions and duplicate regions from the repository will replace definitions in the Directory Server.

        Replace All

        Deletes all existing regions and then imports all regions from repository.

        Working Mode

        When importing:

        Retain

        Retain working mode for all imported regions.

        Convert all to 32 bit

        Convert all imported regions to 32 bit working mode.

        Convert all to 64 bit

        Convert all imported regions to 64 bit working mode.

     4. Click Next.
     5. The ES Default Security Configuration page displays ES default configuration options that will be imported. Click Import and Replace All Security Configuration to delete all security configuration from the Directory Server and then import all security configuration from the legacy definition file. This includes security managers, ES default security and directory server security.
     6. Click Next.
     7. The Directory Server Security Configuration page displays Directory Server security configuration options that will be imported. Click Import and Replace All Security Configuration to delete all security configuration from Directory Server and then import all security configuration from the legacy definition file. This includes security managers, ES default security and directory server security.
     8. Click Next.
     9. The Security Managers page displays Security Manager configuration options that will be imported. Click Import and Replace All Security Configuration to delete all security configuration from directory server and then import all security configuration from this repository. This includes security managers, ES default security and directory server security.
     10. Click Next.
     11. On the Perform Import page, a summary of the selected import options is displayed. If you want to continue to import the selected regions and options, click Import.
     12. Click Finish.
