Changing 5250 Display Fonts

On the Font General page, you can change the size of the text in the emulation window. Select a font size from 3 pixels wide to 24 pixels wide, or Auto. If you select a fixed font size, and Autosize Window is also selected, the window size is based on the font size. The Auto Size selection uses a font size based on the window size. The font size for a 132-column display is automatically selected, based on the selected 80-column font size.

In Extra!, you can change the display session font to:

  • Use a different font type.

  • Use a different font point size.

  • Exclude incompatible aspect ratio fonts.

  • Scale raster fonts.

  • Automatically resize when you resize the display session window.

  • Automatically resize the display session window to best fit around the selected text.

  • Use a different margin width.

Narrow

Reduces extra margin spacing around the text by expanding characters and distributing them using the entire window area. This makes text more readable.

Uses a wide margin setting where characters are centered in your display window.

None

Removes the margin and expands characters over the entire window area.

Advanced

Sets options for incompatible aspect ratio and raster fonts.

Exclude Incompatible Aspect Ratio Fonts

Excludes fonts with incompatible aspect ratios (the normal height-to-width relationship of the characters) from the list of available fonts. These fonts are often difficult to read if the Allow Raster Font Scaling option is enabled.
