Assigning an action to a key

  1. Open the keyboard map.

  2. Select the key to which you want to assign an action and press ENTER.

    The Key Properties dialog box Action page is displayed.

    NOTE:If you are assigning the function to a combination keystroke (for example, a keystroke preceded by a SHIFT, ALT, or CTRL), be sure to press the SHIFT, ALT, or CTRL key before double-clicking the key or selecting the key using your LEFT and RIGHT arrow keys and pressing ENTER.

  3. Choose Send Keys in Commands to specify the keystrokes to send.

    Keystrokes shows the key you selected on the keyboard.

  4. To select the function you want the key to perform, you can either select the function from the Display Keys list and choose the Add to Keystrokes button or you can double-click the function in the Display Keys list.

    The function is displayed along with the key you chose in Keystrokes.

  5. Click OK.

  6. Repeat the above steps for assigning actions to other keys and save the keyboard map.
