3.11.5 QuickPads

A QuickPad is a customized window with text, buttons, bitmaps, icons, or other graphic elements that allow you to quickly perform basic actions. QuickPads samples are included for you to use, or you can create your own. QuickPads can be any shape or size, and as simple or as complex as you want.

The buttons and icons on QuickPads can perform the following tasks:

  • Send keystrokes to the host

  • Run a macro

  • Run an application

  • Assign a scheme

  • Perform any function that can be performed using menus

Basically, QuickPads can help you perform tasks that are hard to remember or that you routinely repeat. They are also useful if you prefer using a mouse instead of the keyboard.
