The Edit Action Dialog Box

Use the Edit Action dialog box to define actions for the selected screen. You can define actions to counter navigation failure or to re-display the same screen.

Following are the options available in the Edit Action Dialog Box:

Action Name: Enter a name that describes the action. This can be up to 12 characters long.

Screen Name: The name of the current screen is displayed in this field.

Prompt User for Input Text: Select this option for a prompt to be displayed for user input for this action. Enter the text for the prompt in the Edit Entry field. This enables you to secure a field within a recording action.

Navigation Failure Action: Select this option for the action you defined to be performed if navigation from the selected screen fails; that is, if the next screen cannot be identified when it is received from the host. You can have more than one action defined for navigation failure for each screen. These actions are processed automatically, in the order defined, when navigation fails from the selected screen.

Edit Entry: Enter the keystrokes for the action or select a key from Terminal Keys. Click Insert, Add, Delete, or Replace to update the Key Entries In Action box.

NOTE:If you selected Prompt User for Input Text, type the text you want to appear as the heading for the prompt box here.

Terminal Keys: Displays a list of AID and special keys, such as tab and enter. Double-click a key to display it in the Edit Entry list box. Click Insert, Add, Delete, or Replace to update the Key Entries In Action box.

Key Entries In Action: Displays the action entries associated with the selected screen. Double-click a key to display it in Edit Entry. Single-click to insert, delete, or replace.
