Zmodem is an error-correcting file transfer protocol. You use it to transfer binary and text data between various types of computers. Your personal computer and host, or remote computer, must run compatible versions of Zmodem. Zmodem is especially useful for transferring files when the transmission involves a significant delay, such as when transferring over a satellite connection.

To send files with Zmodem

  1. Set your Zmodem file transfer options.

  2. Ensure that the host Zmodem protocol is running.

  3. Issue the appropriate commands on the host to start receiving.
