File system connection

If you will be creating datasets that process data from file systems, review the following information before creating sources and datasets to be processed by OpenText Core Data Discovery & Risk Insights.

Last accessed date

If you want to capture the last accessed date for file system items, additional configuration is required. This date refers to the last time the file was accessed from the original file system environment and is captured by OpenText Core Data Discovery & Risk Insights when the source is scanned.

By default, the "last accessed date" is not enabled on file system servers or on individual workstations. In this scenario, the "last modified date" is used as the last accessed date. If you would like to use the actual last accessed date, discuss the matter with your company IT.
