Tag reporting groups

Tag reporting groups let you group your dynamic tags for reporting purposes.

TIP: Although you can create tags before tag reporting groups, it is helpful to create the tag reporting groups first. If you create the tags first, you do not have reporting groups to assign them to and will need to edit the tags after the reporting groups are in place.

You can create tag reporting groups from scratch, or based on grammars.

  • When creating from scratch, you create tag reporting groups individually.

  • When creating based on grammars, you can create multiple tag reporting groups at once, associated with predefined tags and labels. The predefined labels are based on types of information (grammars and entities) that might be found in documents.

    For example, you can create a tag reporting group to identify specific types of financial information. When creating the group, you expand the Financial Data grammar and then select the desired entities tags, such as Bank Account Numbers and Credit Card Details. A Financial Data tag reporting group is created that includes a tag for each entity selected.

    If you select one or more entities within a grammar for which a tag reporting group already exists, tags are only created for entities that do not exist in the tag reporting group for that grammar.

Once created, you can edit the name and details of a tag reporting group as needed. You can delete a tag reporting group only if the tags within the group do not have documents associated with them.

  1. From the primary navigation panel, click Tags > Manage Tags.

    The Manage Tags page opens.

  2. Click the add icon (add icon) at the top of the Tag Reporting Groups panel and then click Create.

    The New Tag Reporting Group dialog opens.

  3. Complete the details for the new tag reporting group.

    Option Description
    Name

    Enter a unique name for the new tag reporting group.

    Limits: Maximum 50 characters.
    Description

    Enter a meaningful description for the new tag reporting group.

    Limits: Maximum 250 characters.

  4. Click CREATE.

    The new tag reporting group is created.

  1. From the primary navigation panel, click Tags > Manage Tags.

    The Manage Tags page opens.

  2. Click the add icon (add icon) at the top of the Tag Reporting Groups panel and then click Create based on Grammars.

    The Create based on Grammars dialog opens.

  3. Select the type of information to identify.

    • Select the grammar (top level listing) to select all entities included in the grammar. Expand the grammar to select individual entities.

    • For each grammar that has selected entities, a tag reporting group is created. The grammar name is the default name of the tag reporting group. If desired, edit the tag reporting group to update the name.

    • For each entity selected, a tag is created within the corresponding tag reporting group. The entity name is the default label for the tag. If desired, edit the tag to update the label and associated weight.

  4. Click CREATE.

    A tag reporting group is created for each grammar under which entities were selected.

    TIP: If a tag reporting group with the same name already exists (the same grammar), tags are created only for selected entities.

    For example, if you create a reporting group for Financial Data two times. The first time, you select the Bank Account Numbers and Credit Card Details entities. This results in a tag reporting group with the name Financial Data that includes a tag for Bank Account Numbers and Credit Card Details. The second time, you select Bank Account Numbers and Bank Details. This results in a tag for Bank Details added to the existing Financial Data tag reporting group.

  1. In the Tag Reporting Groups panel on the Manage Tags page, hover over the tag reporting group you want to edit.

    Action icons display.

  2. Click the edit icon (edit icon).

    The Edit Tag Reporting Group dialog opens.

  3. Make the necessary changes and then click SAVE.

    The edits to the tag reporting group are saved.

  1. In the Tag Reporting Groups panel on the Manage tags page, hover over the tag reporting group you want to delete.

    Action icons display.

  2. Click the delete icon (delete icon).

    NOTE: If the delete icon is inactive, the group cannot be removed because there are documents associated with the one or more tags assigned to the group. Edit the tags in the group to reassign them to another group, or to no group.

    The Delete Tag Reporting Group dialog opens.

  3. Click DELETE.

    The tag reporting group is deleted.
