The information in these Release Notes applies to Micro Focus File Reporter 4.1 and contains the following sections:
The following are new features introduced in File Reporter 4.1.
Agent365 now collects site-specific Microsoft 365 SharePoint Online site users, site groups, and permission levels (roles) as well as assignments of those permission levels to items in document libraries and OneDrive for Business drives.
Agent365 now also collects recent additions to Microsoft 365 GraphAPI for drive item permissions which include SharePoint site user and site group identifiers.
File Reporter 4.1 introduces extended collection of Active Directory objects and attributes.
With this initial release, all security principals in the associated Active Directory forest are collected along with an extended set of fixed attributes. These extended attributes provide data for enhanced identity reporting in Custom Query reports.
This service is independent of file system scanning and includes security principals (users, groups, etc.) which may otherwise be overlooked if not encountered as file system entry owners or permission holders.
File Reporter 4.1 adds initial management of File System target paths for Custom Query reports.
Users can now select and assign one or more target paths from File System or Permissions scans and associate them with a specific Custom Query report in a similar fashion as built-in reports.

In order to provide a more intentional approach to platform support that coincides with the requirements of its customer base and OES releases, Micro Focus has chosen to direct File Reporter support for OES to a dedicated product offering set and release schedule. To that end, the File Reporter 3.x product line will continue to support eDirectory/OES installations and evolve in doing so with forthcoming releases and later versions.
The File Reporter 4.x product line has an exclusive focus on Microsoft ecosystem environments including Active Directory/Windows/NTFS as well as Microsoft 365 environments and will continue to evolve in doing so with forthcoming releases and later versions.
