The Filr desktop client honors the system proxy settings configured on Windows. Both automatic and manual proxy setup options provided by Windows are honored by the Filr desktop client. The client also detects any proxy setting changes and makes use of the updated settings dynamically.
NOTE:Clients running Filr 4.3 or later cannot connect to proxy servers that need authentication. However, by enabling the registry entry, Filr 4.2 or older clients can connect to the authorised proxy servers. If the Filr desktop client needs to honor proxy exception list, then use PAC script; If the proxy server requires authentication, then enable the Registry entry on your workstation.
To enable the Registry entry on your workstation, do the following:
Registry path: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Novell\Filr
Create a new DWORD PromptProxyPassword
Set he value to 1
The Filr Desktop Client displays a popup for specifying proxy credentials.
