Starting the sensors
To start the Fortify ScanCentral SAST sensors:
- Start the Controller if it is not already running.
On each sensor, go to the
<sast_install_dir>/bin/directory.Start the sensor by typing the following command:
scancentral –url <controller_url> worker
If the sensor starts successfully, it displays messages to signal its waiting status on the console. After you verify that the sensor is working, you can create a Startup Task in Windows Task Scheduler or add it to your startup scripts. For more information, see Configuring Sensor Auto-Start.
Make sure that you run each sensor consistently from the same directory. Otherwise, its UUID changes and, if Fortify ScanCentral SAST is connected to Fortify Software Security Center, Fortify Software Security Center identifies it as different sensor.
